Network & Product Engineering Executive, Telstra

Sunil leads the Network and Product Engineering team at Telstra, Bangalore. The Network and Product Engineering team works on the development, roll-out and maintenance of next generation network technologies including 5G and loT to create one of the largest, smartest, safest and reliable networks in the world, as well as enhancing and maintaining Telstra’s existing Network Platforms.

In addition at Telstra India, Sunil is the D&I executive sponsor spearheading the initiatives and the plans for Telstra’s focus on D&I.

Sunil has had a successful career spanning more than 28 years in the telecom and networking industry. He has extensive experience in building carrier class as well as large scale enterprise products and solutions. He has been in technical leadership roles at multiple leading technology companies.

Prior to Telstra, Sunil was Vice President of Global R&D for the Edge Cloud Business Unit at ADVA, as well as the General Manager for the company’s India R&D centre. At ADVA, Sunil was responsible for leading engineering teams building the company’s patented Ensemble NFV Product Portfolio. Sunil’s previous roles include Director of Engineering at Cisco, Vice President & GM at Sonus Networks. He was part of the founding engineering team at Sonus Networks.

He has an M.S in Computer Engineering from Clemson University, USA and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
