An IIR-Bhubaneswar alumnus, Aravind Sanka, founded app-based bike hailing taxi app Rapido, formerly known as the Karrier, in 2015 along with co-founders Rishikesh SR and Pavan Guntupalli. Before revving the Rapido engine which he claims has created over 500,000 jobs in the country till date, Sanka worked under the payroll of India's largest e-commmerce firm Flipkart founded by Sachin and Binny Bansal. Sanka, who worked at Flipkart for over three years, at the time was working on the company's logistics and supply chain department called Ekart. Sanka was instrumental in expanding the growth of Ekart to 100 cities and ensuring last-mile logistics to several locations. Rapido, which has raised a total funding of Rs 558 Crore from investors including Westbridge AIF, Nexus Ventures among others, is also backed by HeroMotoCorp chairman Pawan Munjal and former Google India head & Sequoia India head Rajan Anadan.
